Explain your services

The post stroke shoulder pain services sit within the Queen Square Upper Limb rehabilitation program. It manages shoulder pain secondary to neurological conditions. Whilst primarily this is stroke, this service will also see patients with neurological impairments secondary to traumatic brain injury, acquired brain injury, spinal cord injury and any other neurological condition that causes weakness and shoulder pain. The clinic is multidisciplinary and provides patients with assessment, intervention and rehabilitation of their shoulder pain at the first assessment.

Interventions include management of intra-articular pain with steroid and anaesthetic injections. The clinic also manages shoulder pain related to spasticity (with botulinum toxin injections) and neuropathic pain.
