Referral process
We have a single referral email for colleagues across the trust to access the spasticity MDT for advice and review (and focal spasticity management if an inpatient). We do also review patients within the community for their spasticity under our complex disability pathway but are unable to offer access to Botulinum Toxin treatment due to commissioning arrangements . This does pose a problem for any community housebound patient that is unable to travel to the regional clinic resulting in health inequality and poor outcomes for this cohort group.

Referral Criteria
We will accept any inpatient referral for any of the acute hospitals in East Sussex and from the Irvine Rehabilitation Unit. Acceptance of a patient will be based on their needs and we consider anyone with a focal spasticity.
